OECD-PISA

The OECD Programme for International Student Assessment (PISA) was launched in 1997 to monitor the outcomes of educational system among OECD member countries in terms of student achievement within a common international framework. In a three-yearly survey, the domains of reading, mathematical and scientific literacy are covered not merely in terms of mastery of the school curriculum, but in terms of important knowledge and skills needed in adult life. In Japan, the National Institute for Educational Policy Research and the CRADLE work together in terms of conducting a survey, monitoring, data analysis, and report writing.
